What to Expect

Camp Ascent offers a fun, inclusive, and structured environment where children naturally build social skills, executive functioning, and confidence through play-based learning and meaningful connection. Through engaging activity rotations, children grow in communication, collaboration, emotional regulation, and peer relationships — all while feeling safe, supported, and successful.

❋ Intentional Structure

Children follow a consistent daily schedule so they know what to expect. This builds:

  • Emotional safety

  • Regulation

  • Confidence

  • Independence

❋ High Interest Activities

Each activity is chosen and structured to naturally teach skills like:

  • Turn-taking

  • Cooperation

  • Problem-solving

  • Flexibility

  • Self-advocacy

  • Executive functioning

Nothing is random — play is purposeful.

❋ Skill Building In Real Moments

Skills are taught within real interactions, not in artificial drills:

  • During games

  • During transitions

  • During group work

  • During peer interactions

  • During problem-solving moments

❋ A Supportive Space

Staff actively guide interactions by:

  • Modeling language

  • Coaching communication

  • Supporting regulation

  • Facilitating problem-solving

  • Helping children navigate peer challenges

  • "My child jumped in the car each morning to get to Camp Ascent. He made a friend, loved the staff, and grew so much!"
